We'd spend 4-6 hours every week tracking down failed transactions, writing personalized emails, and following up with customers. Despite our best efforts, we only recovered about 28% of failed payments. The math was brutal: the time we spent chasing failed payments would have been more valuable if we'd just focused on acquiring new customers.
